Many go nuts when they have to remove their hair to cut lag in big events in SL but what if you lost your hair in RL ? Hair Fair raises money for Kids With Wigs.
My aunt, who I was named after and adore, has no hair right now. She is battling cancer for the 5th time. If she wins I will see her in October when she is planning to come over from America to visit. The fear is I might never see her again, so this year Hair Fair is a greater passion than before for me. My aunt is in her 73, though she has to prove that often because they think she is in her early 60s at most. She rocks her bald head and wears it with pride that she is in a battle. How kids deal with this must be so much more shocking. For teens it must hurt with such pain and depression I will never understand. After all when we hit our teens all we wanted to do was to fit in. For that girl going to a dance and have a great looking wig to wear with her beautiful dress or a lad who is going to a family event and feels like hiding, us raising money to help pay for these wigs is the least we can do. No, it will not heal them, no they might not win the fight but if a wig helps they feel that bit better then we have to do all we can to get the money to pay for it.
So I dare you, take off your hair in SL tomorrow and go buy a bandana and wear it with pride.
